Susana Trasente

City of Peoria
Project Manager

Susana started her career with Freeport-McMoRan. Her deep understanding of diverse cultures and business acumen allowed her to thrive within the Global Compliance Department by engaging with her international counterparts.

Upon joining the public sector, Susana has made it her goal to create partnerships between the public and private sector. She has accomplished this by creating awareness surrounding foreign direct investment throughout Arizona and engaging businesses at times when their expertise is needed. Through her work at Maricopa Association of Governments, she worked with elected officials to educate them on foreign policies that impact their respective community, including keeping them abreast of Arizona’s trade statistics and how it impacts their work/policies. She has been heavily involved with international project management, including successfully leading international trips for elected officials to Mexico and organizing high-level meetings for international business and political visitors. Susana currently serves as a Program Manager for the Economic Development team at the City of Peoria. Her responsibilities include managing, planning, and monitoring projects and programs related to the implementation of development opportunities. She works heavily on tourism, hospitality, and businesses looking to expand their footprint.

Susana serves on the board of the Laptops4Learning, Global Chamber Phoenix Chapter, Women’s Business Center, The Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce DATOS Committee, Canada Arizona Business Council Project North America Committee, and began her term with the District Export Council in 2024. Susana holds a BA in Psychology from Arizona State University and an MBA from Grand Canyon University. She is a 2019 recipient of Phoenix Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 awards and was named a Rising Star from the Arizona Capitol Times in 2023.
