Rita Marko

Rita Marko served as the International Relations Administrator for the City of Phoenix for more than eight years. In this capacity, she was the President/CEO of Phoenix Sister Cities, managed the City’s protocol program, and worked with Community and Economic Development staff on international economic development initiatives. During her tenure, Rita organized dozens of diplomatic visits hosted by the City of Phoenix, worked with her staff to execute numerous outbound missions, and represented the City to multinational organizations, including the German Marshall Fund City Directors of International Affairs (CDIA) Network.

Since her retirement from the City in December 2025, Rita has continued to work to elevate Phoenix’s profile internationally.
