Fernando Almeida

Fernando Almeida is a seasoned attorney with a practice deeply embedded in the Arizona trade community. He actively engages with all major cross-border organizations in the region, dedicating a significant portion of his work to international trade, mergers and acquisitions, distribution agreements, litigation, and cross-border transactions.
With extensive experience as an international lawyer, Fernando provides strategic guidance on a broad range of trade matters, including structuring business entities in foreign jurisdictions, collaborating with local counsel to facilitate trade, and drafting export and distribution contracts. He adeptly handles both inbound and outbound transactions, proactively identifying issues and providing tailored solutions. His expertise includes tariffs, taxes, manufacturing, distribution, marketing and sales channels, cross-border intellectual property protection, exclusivity rights, transaction auditing, deal financing, company acquisitions, and trade finance. Fernando also specializes in resolving disputes through international litigation and arbitration.
As the leader of the international practice group at a prominent full-service law firm with over 600 attorneys in 28 cities, Fernando advises clients across Latin America, Canada, Asia, the UK, the EU, and Africa. Having lived in Latin America for more than a decade, primarily in Costa Rica and Mexico, Fernando is fluent in Spanish and frequently showcases his musical talents as a performer in a Spanish-language band.
