4th USMCA SME Dialogue

In 2025, Greater Phoenix has been selected as the U.S. host city for the 4th United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Dialogue—a pivotal gathering of government and industry leaders from the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This important event will be organized by the U.S. Commercial Service and the Arizona District Export Council, appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, to foster collaboration and strengthen economic ties across North America.

The USMCA SME Dialogue, established under the SME Chapter of the Agreement, is convened by the Office of the United States Trade Representative, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Small Business Administration; together with Global Affairs Canada and Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service; and the Development Productive Unit and the Vice Ministry of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economy of Mexico.

The United States hosted the first SME Dialogue in 2022 in San Antonio, Texas, Mexico hosted the second SME Dialogue in Mexico City in 2023, and Canada hosted the third SME Dialogue in 2024.  This official Dialogue brings high-level officials of the three governments together with small business delegations from across the United States, Canada and Mexico, to discuss important trade and investment opportunities and challenges among our three countries, and in 2025 will focus on key topics of interest to the Arizona regional export and business community. Mexico and Canada are the top two export destinations for U.S. SME goods. In 2023, U.S. goods and services trade with the USMCA Parties totaled over $1.8 trillion with the majority of traders from small businesses. 

The topics of the 2025 USMCA SME Dialogue in Phoenix will include nearshoring, tourism, sports, AI, supply chains, workforce development and more.
