State and Local Programs

There are a number of excellent state and local trade assistance programs in our region to help you develop export sales.

The International Trade Program of Arizona’s Commerce Authority offers Arizona-based companies valuable export services to amplify their trade opportunities in international markets. Services include trade counseling and education, business contact facilitation, trade leads and more. In addition, their AZSTEP program offers financial assistance to help Arizona businesses go global.


The Arizona Department of Agriculture is a member of the Western US Trade Asociation. This association offers Arizona agricultural and food companies programs designed to help them learn, connect, and compete globally. You can contact them to discuss how to maximize your opportunities to compete successfully in the global marketplace.


Go Global AZ is a program of the Arizona Small Business Development Network. The SBDC’s international trade advisors have advanced certification in import/export and global business. They use their real-life business ownership and management experience to help Arizona companies grow their import/export businesses, through a variety of professional services.

The Office of Economic Initiatives of the City of Tucson’s has a long history as a trading partner with nations around the world and a special partnership with Mexico and Canada. It works with the organizations above to keep Tucson in a position of prominence with its trade neighbors and to expand trade relationships with the international business community. 

The Community and Economic Development Department of the City of Phoenix helps companies in its region to increase ​their sales globally.  Its staff works closely with firms to understand​​​​ their export needs in order to provide the most appropriate resources.
